Taco 571-4 3/4″ Sweat 2-Way Zone Valve – 24V Heat Motor Actuated

The Taco 571-4 is a 3/4″ 2-way hydronic zone valve from the 570 Gold Series, designed for use in closed-loop heating systems. It is powered by a 24V heat motor actuator and provides reliable on/off control of water flow through individual zones in residential and light commercial hydronic applications.

This valve features a compact, serviceable design with a twist-off actuator head, allowing quick maintenance without disturbing piping. The normally closed valve opens automatically upon power application and closes when power is removed. It incorporates a replaceable power head and positive shut-off using a proven diaphragm-type seat construction.

Key Features

  • Valve Size: 3/4″ sweat connections
  • Control Voltage: 24 VAC, 60 Hz
  • Flow Design: 2-way, straight-through
  • Flow Coefficient (Cv): 6.1
  • Normally Closed: Opens when energized
  • Twist-Off Power Head: Allows for easy actuator replacement without draining the system

Technical Specifications

  • Model: 571-4
  • Max Operating Pressure: 300 PSI
  • Max Water Temperature: 240°F
  • Power Consumption: Approximately 7.7W
  • Actuator Type: Heat motor with mechanical return
  • Body Material: Bronze

Installation Requirements

Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure alignment with flow direction, and use proper soldering techniques when connecting sweat ends. Allow for access to the actuator in case of future service. Electrical connections must follow applicable low-voltage wiring codes and be completed with power off.

Contractor Notes

The Taco 571-4 is commonly used with multi-zone hydronic systems where isolated control of individual loops is required. Compatible with standard 24V thermostats and zone control relays. Actuator heads can be replaced independently of the valve body to minimize service time.
